How to combine audio files on iPhone

Join voice memos, clips and recordings into a single audio file — in the order you choose, with a smooth crossfade between them — right on your iPhone.

Step 1 — Get your recordings into Files

Audio already in the Files app is ready to go. For a voice memo, open it in the Voice Memos app, tap the ••• button, then Share › Save to Files.

Step 2 — Merge them

  1. In Tonecut, tap Merge, then Add tracks — you can pick several files at once.
  2. Use the arrows to put them in order.
  3. Set a Crossfade if you want one track to blend into the next, or leave it at zero for a straight join.
  4. Export as MP3 or WAV. The result is saved to your Library and to Files under On My iPhone › Tonecut.

Common questions

How much can I merge? Merging happens in your phone’s memory, so Tonecut combines up to about three minutes of audio in total — plenty for voice memos, clips and short recordings.

Does it upload my recordings? No. Everything runs on your iPhone.
